Topic Research: The World of Fairies

A Fairy's Blunder    -    This was a cute story with a happy ending! A fairy makes a mistake, enchanting a fountain so that anyone who drinks it shall become old if they are young, and young if they are old. A young couple drinks unaware of the consequences, and they both become old. The fairy can only undo half of her mistake, so the girl becomes young again. The boy, whose dad was a wizard, is given permission by the fairies to make him young again as well. The pair wed each other and live happily in youth.

Fairy Gifts    -    I liked this story. A fairy raises children and, when they reach adulthood, they are granted one gift by the fairy. Sylvia is sent to visit many Princesses and to report back to the fairy on how the Princesses are doing, since they were raised by the fairy, and Sylvia analyzes their gifts and how at first the gifts sound wonderful, but later she realizes they aren't as good as they seem. In the end, Sylvia chooses her own gift.

The Punishment of the Fairy Gangana    -    Well, this story was chaotic. It was a bit hard to follow as it had like four sub-plots and side-stories throughout the whole thing, but basically a fairy named Gangana stole a child (could this be related to Changelings? maybe) from a royal family so the child can marry her niece someday. The king of the royal family (who's in his 20s) was supposed to marry Gangana's niece but she never had one until he was way too old. The Flower Fairy took the other children of the royal family to raise them (remember the previous story? that's the same fairy) and rescued both the stolen child and Gangana's niece, reporting the crime to the Queen of the Fairies and informing her of Gangana's intentions to turn the other children and their parents into animals. The Queen of the Fairies declared Gangana to be punished by having no powers and living as an animal for the next 200 years, and the rescued child and niece were raised in the Queen's court. In the future, the pair married and took over the kingdom, and all was good.
